SMC, Inc. has been in business since 1982 and is headquartered in Tracy's Landing, Maryland. We provide inside plant structured cable solutions (ISP) and outside plant cabling (OSP) to defense contractors, the Department of Defense, Federal, State and Local governments, telecommunications companies, electric utilities, property developers and commercial customers. SMC built its business on the idea of providing quality service at a value-added price. SMC has an unmatched reputation for dependability, responsiveness and professionalism.
SMC began as an OSP contractor to Bell Atlantic, but quickly expanded its services to include construction of power distribution systems. By 1997, SMC increased its capabilities by providing turn-key ISP solutions. SMC continued to grow and was purchased by Argan, Inc. in 2003. Argan operates as a publicly traded holding company (AMEX: AGX) and is headquartered in Rockville, Maryland.
